Collective Agreements

Pilot groups at many operators in Canada are now unionized. As a consequence, wages & working conditions (WOWCON), benefits, scope, etc. are laid out in negotiated Collective Agreements between the union representing the pilot group & their employer. Unlike unions, the College of Professional Pilots is not a labour organization, however, in keeping with our values, mission and vision, we acknowledge that the industry, pilot market, compensation will be in large part affected by negotiated agreements between a pilot groups’ representation and their employer. Therefore, it behooves us to keep abreast of developments and trends in collective agreements across pilot groups.

Collective Agreements can be found using Government Canada’s Negotech Service.

Should you have any questions about the specific contents of a collective agreement, it would be best to contact the union group concerned. For more general interpretation and understanding of terms and concepts, the College of Professional Pilots Mentorship Program (info@collegeofpilots.ca) can be a handy resource to link up with a real person, who possibly works under the very agreement you may be inquiring about.
